C. Signage requirement for LTC holders
Generally speaking, there is a heightened notice requirement when
trying to exclude an LTC holder (compared to a Texas Constitutional
Carrier) from carrying in an otherwise lawful place. See Tex. Penal
Code §§ 30.06, 30.07.
Although this topic will be discussed more in Chapter 13, under
the new law stemming from House Bill 1927, an unlicensed person
may be excluded from property by several different forms; the only
legal requirement is that the sign or notice is reasonably likely to
come to the attention of the person entering the building. See Tex.
Penal Code § 30.05. So, even signs such as these could be effective
against a person carrying under Texas Constitutional Carry, and yet
these signs are not considered effective notice to license holders:
