Remember, the 30.06 sign is simply one way to give legal notice
that a person carrying a concealed handgun pursuant to an LTC is
trespassing.
Any place where 30.07 notice is given
Section 30.07 is virtually identical in its legal requirements for
notice, violations, and penalties to 30.06, including that a valid
warning can be given orally, in writing, or by signage. However,
since a 30.07 sign pertains to the open carrying of a handgun,
the language of 30.07 differs from 30.06 and states: “Pursuant
to Section 30.07, Penal Code (trespass by license holder with an
openly carried handgun), a person licensed under Subchapter H,
Chapter 411, Government Code (handgun licensing law), may not
enter this property with a handgun that is carried openly.”
The requirements for a 30.07 sign are that it must contain this exact
language in both English and Spanish, written in one-inch-high
block letters in contrasting colors, and placed in a conspicuous
place at each entrance to the property.
