near an elementary school, particularly around a playground

Also, note that warnings, notices, and the like are not included in
the wording of the statute, meaning that using a warning sign is
unlikely to shield you from liability. Notice, warning, or knowledge
of the maintenance of a spring gun or similar device has been held
not to constitute a defense to a criminal prosecution and is unlikely
to shield a person from liability for such a device. In the criminal
context, courts around the country have held that even if the
deceased person knew of the spring gun, this alone did not justify
his killing.
A. Drones for self-defense
Can an individual arm a drone to shoot bullets at someone? In
2021, the Texas Legislature passed a law removing the availability
of justification for civilians who use force or deadly force with
a drone. This means that you cannot arm a drone to use in selfdefense. This law does allow for law enforcement agencies to
use force-utilizing drones in self-defense, but only under limited
circumstances. See Tex. Penal Code § 9.54.
